The standards of conflicts within couples are typically fundamentally anchored in adaptive issues that stem from combining differences in believes and how each would like to handle each situation. Compromise.

Because people change overtime, so do relationships. This is the challenging point in the relationship where the couple realizes the relationship needs “fine tuning.” Couples counseling is a valuable service to refine the relationship. Couples that are struggling – and even those that are not struggling but looking to strengthen their bonds can benefit from couples counseling as it has been scientifically proven to improve the dynamics in relationships. Couples counseling addresses the psychosocial stresses in the relationship that caused the breakdown in the connection, whether it be from communication, cultural norms , infidelity, substance abuse, dishonesty, extended family, parenting, blended family – people feel unsettled and preoccupied with the issues that impacts their overall level of functioning in other areas of their life and require change.

Talia incorporates an eclectic bio-psychosocial approach to therapy as she addresses and assesses the relationship and individuals as a total system. She incorporates ideals from Gottman Method Counseling, Mindfulness for Couples, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to shape and improve the relationship. No couple is the same, thus the treatment plan is developed during the initial phase of counseling, this is typically The first three sessions of therapy in which the relationship needs, strengths, weaknesses, problems and goals are addressed to help develop a treatment plans that will solidify the relationship. 12- 15 sessions are typically encouraged for full treatment, (not limited to), The first three sessions of therapy address the relationship needs, strengths, weaknesses, problems and goals to help solidify the relationship.

Length of Session

Sessions are typically 60 – 90 minutes.
